Start Over Poem by Dani Miller

Start Over

You've veered off this path
Several times before.
This time it needs to be different,
Keep your eyes straight on.
Walk the straight road,
Until told otherwise.
If a fork comes into this road,
Then take the path I tell you.
You can do this I know you can,
Just listen for my voice
And I will guide you to happiness.

Listening to me will cost you.
Not might cost you, will cost you.
It might cost some small thing,
Like losing a few friends.
Or maybe becoming a total outcast,
But as long as you keep your eyes on me,
Good things will become of this.
Do not let your eyes stray away from me,
If they do, do not go to what looks tempting.
I am the only thing you need,
Nothing else can make your life complete.

I am here to rekindle the fire inside of you.
The fire you used to have for me.
The one that was put out by various things.

What are you doing? Why are you walking away?
No, you aren't supposed to go that way.
You need to go the other way to get closer to me.
Hello? Can you not hear me?
I'm talking to you, please answer me.
I told you what to do...
And you ignored my command.
No, I'm not demanding, you are supposed to do
What I tell you to do.
Please, I beg of you, turn around and come back.
Then we can start over from the beginning.

Why is this so hard for you?
I mean there shouldn't be a question...
And there shouldn't be disobedience...
Why not love me, and do as I say?
What is wrong with that?
I know what I am doing.
You should understand this...

How would you feel if someone completely
Ignored what you asked of them?
Even after you gave up the most precious thing
That you could ever have.
Your life.

Why not live for me...

When I died for you?
