Stance Poem by Mohamed Eid

Stance

Now all the songs come at once
Calling you from long gone worlds
Into my room and into my bed
Where we once slept with our thighs clasped

Like lover’s vows; genuine and sincere
At the moment of utterance;
Disdained and deliberately forgotten
A moment after, in a different stance
