Sri Ramakrishna (1836 - 1886) Poem by Tushar Ray

Sri Ramakrishna (1836 - 1886)

(Unifier of World Religions with Spirituality)

Lo and behold our famous Unity-Avatar, Sri-Sri Ramakrishna
Incarnation of the rare category of Love, called Prema
Poised in his most familiar gesture in a child alike form
Showing Prema is the Way to reach the highest single Dharma

Lord's body is radiating Prema almost identical to a playful child
The endless source of selfless love in consciousness of purest form
Emitting by him in ceaseless bliss through every pore of his body
The master's way of showing the world how to conclude own karma

Sri Ramakrishna is showing this world what he cherished in life
That, Prema is the only way for man to get hold of the Entire Truth
When all other means might take one only closed to his inner God
But never close enough to feeling HIM both within and without

Our Lord was always coupled to God in thought, word and deed
As revealed by him in total conviction to all his closest devotees
That, the mind-body outfit was only his tool to direct peerless-gift
Steadily emitting from our Lord's being to all those around him

Entire life of revered Ramakrishna is just an open-teaching to all
Faithfully recorded by his proficient disciple, known as Sri-M
With great precision in Lord's version in 'Gospels of Sri Ramakrishna
Serving thereafter as a genuine guide in this baffling world realm

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sri Ramakrishna was a child prodigies with total faith in God from early age, became enlightened at the age of 20 meditating on Goddess Kali, the creative Power(female-energy) of this Universe. Soon he started practicing other religious faiths by precisely following the ways and means used by a devout practioner of any particular faith. Thus Ramakrishna (then Gadadhar) practiced one after another various fractions of Hinduism (using different customs) and realized the same Truth. Then he practiced Christianity and Moslem religions with same fervor using the guidance of experts available in Calcutta, a famous meeting place of different religious faiths. Again, Gadadhar reached the same Truth (Spiritual Unity) . Then, he boldly declared the unity of all religions in this World. They all reach the same mountain Peak (The Truth) only the paths followed by various religions are different.

This message of 'The Unity of All World Religions' was presented to the West by Swami Vivekananda (please read my poem on Vivekananda) in the First World Parliaments of Religions (September 11,1893) held in Chicago. The rest is now a history.
