Spring Poem by BHARTI CHANDWANI

Spring

Reminiscences smeared in the conscious,
Like the moonlight coat the room, stealthy and swiftly, smirking undauntedly
Through some invisible crevices,
Not to be mend deliberately.
As unwanted prick of memories is often as sweet as a last lullaby.

The final flake of melting snow,
Bidding adieu to its dear Oak tree
Marked the collapse of winter,
And on it's death bed were born
The rhododendron and Azaleas,
Singing of the early spring.

Time devoured the inseparable suffering of a mother,
Who lost her only child in a War
And the Spring, welcomed for
Rebirth and resurrection
When the gold fish will copulate,
And the Flamingos will return
It never rouse her resentment,
But a fondle remembrance of him
And his love for dancing daffodils.

Sophocles born from his tragedies,
Skylark's song will keep resonating
Death shall die one day.
But remember,
To embrace the Spring,
One have to befriend the Winter.
