Space And Love Poem by Evelyn Norcott

Space And Love

Rating: 5.0

I talk about space when I talk about love
Because for me,15, writing oceans into a notebook
The stars above me feel as far-fetched as these feelings.
Love is quite frankly astronomical
And maybe I can't record it all
In stanzas of like-minded syllables.
The only tool at my disposal are Words.
So I'll paint a paragraph in cursive
And hope it's bright enough to depict
the 100 billion stars in my heart.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I found this in the back of one of my old notebooks.
I wanted to share it because when I was 15 I felt as those writing was a lot of all I had. So in a way, this is part of my roots- where, poetically, I have come from.

A lot has changed in very little time, I still believe love is astronomical and I know that I can't record it all because there are a million depths in loving someone, and words can scarcely cover them all.

Thank you for reading, please rate and comment, your feedback means a lot.
