Soul's Journey - Parts I - V Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Soul's Journey - Parts I - V

Rating: 5.0

I

Another door
Opening
To window
Of future
At first
Darkness
Blinding
Sight shocked
Fear
Rising
Threatening
Paralyzing
Demons fighting
For victory
In mortal hell
Abyss waiting

Poet's Notes: Unlike a work in progress, this is a continual poem. The events are factual. The poem is about my near-death experience. The poem continues to unfold in stages. This process of heightening suspense is meant to give the reader a minute sense of the near-death experience.

II

Arms outstretched
Like Jesus
Christ what pain
Mind stands tall
Voice within
Eternal
Guiding me
To The Light
Flicker
Of light
Opens
Blind sight
Eyes seeing
Now more light
More glimmer
Warmth searching

My spiritual body has moved from an evil environment in which shadowy entities were trying to tear my body apart. It is now in the presence of all-encompassing love. My spiritual self is in the presence of what appears to be entities that are all-loving. The love that they are showing to me is total unconditional love. I sense amongst them deceased friends and relatives. And especially, my Godfather who was like a second father to me and, what appears to be my grandfather, whom I had never met.

III

Oneness present
Trying to speak
Communicate
Educating
Effortless
Thought now read
One Mind
One Love
Tears flowing
Purifying
Cleansing of all sin
Rejuvenating

I am now in the presence of extremely brilliant light. There is a presence in the midst of this light that emits the purest form of unconditional love that I have ever experienced. I sincerely believe that it is Jesus. He has purified me. Not only of all sin, but also, of the negative energy from the evil entities that I had encountered in Part I. He has telepathically communicated that we can both read each others' minds.

IV

Blinding Light
Shining down
On sinner
Forgiving
Jesus speaking
My listening
Time waiting
Forgiving
Lesson learned
Moving onward
Blessed forward
To eternity

Jesus has totally purified me. He has communicated to me that my life's purpose has not yet been accomplished. He has given me the choice of staying or returning to Earth. A Higher Consciousness (not higher than Jesus, but most definitely, higher than mine)has passionately instructed me to return to Earth.
Upon returning to Earth, my eyes finally opened. The first thing that I saw was my doctor at my bedside in my home. The first words I heard were from him: Do you believe in God? To which I responded in the affirmative. His response: Good. Because it's nothing short of a miracle. You should be dead.

V

Love and happiness
Enveloped me
At my death
The light
Brighter
Than sun

Kiss of death
Warm tender
Surprising

Long lost friends
Family
Heavenly

Jesus smiling
Now welcoming
So comforting

Warmer light
Greater love
Enlightening

Life's mission
Unfinished
Returning

As tempting as it was to remain in that other world, a higher intellect instructed me to complete my life's mission. And so I departed with sadness. And great joy.

I liked how you put the explanatory paragraphs at the end of each stanza. It seems to bring the reader closer to the poem.

Carl, thank you so much for your valuable feedback. You are right on target! This type of experience is extremely difficult to describe. To do it as succinctly as I have was very challenging. I felt that the explanatory paragraphs gave the reader a sense of almost being there.

Many years ago, I had read 'Life After Life' in a condensed form in Reader's Digest. It also contained many such experiences of 'dead' persons who later came to life.
