Soul Flower Poem by Nicholas Smith

Soul Flower

She had so much soul
So much so that I can't even put a name on her

Indeed she had one cause it was I who bestowed it upon
One with the sun we could have been

Her brown skin like cinnamon
Body slim & eyes so innocent

Ring in her nose and beauty without pose
Hair natural showing style & attitude bold

One stare and I swear she could see through me
Lovely the way she speaks like the 70s she's groovy

Poor fools whoever let her go mustn't have known
My flower of soul had so much growth

Heart as big as life itself
You not being here isn't good for my health
If I had you I wouldn't need wealth
A smile and a stay awhile would be all my need

No jealousy or greed if you speak to another while you leave
I'm mature enough to understand it's simple conversation

Have a safe trip to your destination
Sure physically you aren't here but with one thought of you I'm on vacation

Lovely sensation it will be if we make love
Reaching in the sky you'd do as you feel the high

All these things I seem to dream when I look in your direction
Sleeping with my eyes open hoping to fill the unseated section of my mind

But I'm afraid your mind is maybe full of other priorities

But in my mind you'll always be the beautiful soul flower
