Sorry Poem by Riley Choma

Sorry

I told them I am sorry.
I am sorry that I can't do anything right, not once, not twice, but every time.
They told me not to think so low, and to try, try again.
So I try and try till I have done it, just once, just one thing.
A triumphant victory: one thing I finally can do right.
But no one ever told me it was possible to be wrong even when you are right.
I say 'Look I've finally done it! '
And they say 'Could you be more holier than thou? '
And so I choke back my new found pride and wonder...
Why are they happier when I am low?
I tell them I am sorry.
I say 'I am sorry, ' not once, not twice, but every time...
