Sorrowful Song Poem by Matthew Holloway

Sorrowful Song

Rating: 5.0

What if I never realised
What love actually is
Let slip all the good that came to me
Let go the only love I ever knew
I was, maybe I am still a fool
Alone forever now
Due to actions, decisions I made
I regret those, people I hurt
But this is my life
The path I made, I must walk now
However hard it may be
Fate or me decreed this is to be
And I wish to apologise
To all I've ever hurt
I hope you take my word
I never wanted to hurt anyone
Although it seemed I did
I am sorry now
And if it's all to late
In some future time, I hope
You will forgive me
And in that time I hope now
You find a love, a happiness
I want you to be happy
Even without me

At times you hurt those around you in trying to navigate life, and want to take upon yourself the pain you have caused. A really good write, and a 10

This poem shouts volumes! And I hope somehow that its sincere and anguished sentiments will find their way into the hands, hearts, and ears of the intended recipients about whom this poem is written. Lovely work.
