Sorrow Lullaby Poem by Kristina Tapayan

Sorrow Lullaby

The owls awake
The moon has rise
Child, time for your break
Hush now, silence your cries
A lonely tune plays softly and dies

Moonlight drips from still windows
Laughter chimes and fades
As you sleep, abandon all woes
Child so lonely, soar and don't be afraid

And though the world is a cruel place
for both you and I,
With my body,
I'll shield you 'til I die

Because my children
The world is so vast and so cold
And I hoped to be your moon
In the dark, bright and bold

Let us meet once again
Underneath the bright sun
Where we will stay,
and we never have to run

For when the time has come
that I have to go by then,
Only, in my dreams
Will we meet again
