Sonnet: The Truth Of After-Life (In Iambic Tetra-Meter) Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: The Truth Of After-Life (In Iambic Tetra-Meter)

Rating: 5.0

All wealth you leave behind on earth
Hard-earned or not will vanish fast;
The health you nurtured since your birth,
In old age turns a thing of past.

The life you lived in honest ways
Or not is forgotten at death;
The feats attained in life-time days
Become effaced, erased by stealth.

God knows your mind and sees your heart;
You can’t deceive the Lord by art;
He is aware of your each thought
And actions done till you depart.

Only the good you did will stay
To earn you heaven’s place one day!

Insightful poem dipped in philosophy of life. It, s an eye opener in a way for those running after worldly things like wealth and riches and consider it as an end. They forget that wealth as also health are means for leading a meaningful life. Ten points. Thanks for sharing.
