Sonnet: The Healing Heart Poem by David Wood

Sonnet: The Healing Heart

Rating: 5.0

We make graves in our heart for our sorrows
When life's journey is hard for us to cope
And are struck by many of life's arrows
But life is life and always full of hope.

We plough many of life's furrows each day
And plant seeds in the hope that they will grow
Hoping they'll bring a beautiful display
Tho' the future's something we never know.

After a heart has been filled with deep pain
Time will give it space to heal and grow strong
Where a new love will enter once again
That will give an aching heart a new song.

Sorrow leave's a cold winter in the heart
Yet Cupid's arrow can strike like a dart.
