I've reached a stage when I can take no more!
The world around me oppresses a lot;
I feel my mind and body getting sore;
My heart seems anguished by their lies and plot!

But I am halfway through my earthly life!
I've kept my principles good most of time;
I am unscared of trials, travail, strife;
I can alive stay in the worst of clime!

But I can't be like most men that surround;
I will be just myself until the last;
To serve my God with love, I'm duty-bound;
I must be better than my erstwhile past!

But God's with me until the very end;
To worldly threats and favours, I needn't bend!
