Song Of Love And Treachery Poem by Sasanka Sekhar Panda

Song Of Love And Treachery

To go to the estuary
one has to sail through the
high current of the river
both sides full of mangroves,
in both banks
crocodiles perch
on the sands and marshes.
slightest mistake,
you fall into the water,
to be devoured
by these carnivorous reptiles.
In that lagoon I fall in love
by the brown-eyed
Polynesian beauty
with a tanned body
mesmerised by
her bewitching smile.

But alas! while sailing
through the reefs
to that unknown tiny island,
in her body's meridian
I fall prey
while mooring
my passionate ship
in that marshy shore,
and killed
in her orgies of orgasm
feeling pleasure unbound.
