Someone Else Poem by Kalee Skriver

Someone Else

Fear and pain resounds within my heart and my head.
I am so afraid, but not yet completely filled with dread.
I can continue on without a fight,
but not much longer do I wish to endure this plight.
Shall I stand my ground and speak these words aloud?
Or should I simply wait and see, wallowing in misery?
It’s not so bad, I tell myself.
I can be the kind of girl who looks good on a shelf.
As long as you are happy.
