Somebody They Want Me To Be Poem by Karen Montegrande

Somebody They Want Me To Be

For the time, the friendship and the smiles each of you had given,
I thank you guys for making my stay a bit lighter,
I've been to heavy experience before i knew you,
But instead of failing again, you guys became true,
I never needed people who put me down
But thanks to you guys you've balance this world that i am in now,

I need not to hide for you accepted me as me,
no need to pretend 'cause you guys wanted each one to break free,
I never felt someone unwelcome nor did i felt alone,
'cause here where I've stayed made me felt at home,
I'm thankful and glad i can be me,
Around you guys you see my potentials and my mistakes but you never judge me

The times i spent with you i will treasure forever,
I will remember you guys for making me better,
Giving me bigger chances to improve my field and seeing through me,
Seeing what's real and not the physical me,
But no matter how different i am around you,
You embraced me and taught me to be true,
And for that I'm happy i met each of you,

I can't please everybody,
I can't make them love me,
But if being accepted would mean to change every inch of me,
Then i wouldn't beg for people to accept me,
I believe i have the chance and the opportunity to be me,
But sometimes it's more tragic than it could ever be,
But what could i do I'm only me,
I can never be somebody...
Somebody they want me to be.
