Society Deals With Anger Issues Poem by Terence George Craddock

Society Deals With Anger Issues

Rating: 5.0

society has developed a system of rules
that explain the correct conduct procedures
to be followed in formal informal situations

a system of rules that can avoid or defuse
embarrassment anger explosive issues
to appease feelings restore social harmony

this raises the reason why some people vent
explode into toxic public displays of anger?
words vomited spat spoken leaves residue bitter

anger is spark flash point a sure sign
someone is not coping pushed beyond point
endurance anger can be a protection

from threats recognized an active response
to a threat a fight or flight adrenaline rush
first response this is anger as a self defense

mechanism if life is a minefield
a conflict constant source of hazards
anger could be a first response

attempt at coping
a danger exists
if anger becomes

a habit...

anger can be used
as a protection
for all interactions

if unable to determine
no present threat exists
this approach is a knee

jerk reaction like a rockie soldier
or overwhelmed exhausted veteran
who shoots first asks questions

later a first response fail safe
proving lethal to wrong place wrong time
friendly fire chance caught victims ...

anger can also spring from insecurities
anger as a protection when feeling vulnerable
to prevent additional pain resulting from hurt

difficult to deal with feelings
a fear of abandonment can
cause significant difficulty in

relating to others when a phobia results
causing a feeling there are constant attacks
that must be defended against anger can

be the go to first fight defense
anger an attempt to defend
oneself an attempt to respond

to the attacks
to fight back
to anger fight

rage a hurt defense an anger response
might keep hurting threats away a simple
''You can't hurt me, if I hurt you firs''

the problem is
toxic anger is
difficult to live with

difficult to heal
