Society Poem by Andy Long

Society

I know, I know a girl
A girl sprayed orange
A girl with hair three shades blonde
Each one blonder than the next
A girl so shallow
She worships objects

Then there's this guy
This guy who is holier than thy
He knows all the answers
He speaks to his 'God'
After work he gets in his luxury car
He claims we're all flawed

There's a bum on the corner
He says 'the end is near'
Shouting damnation
The girl and that guy
The girl and that guy
They just walk by
They just walk by

Some day we all die
Some day you will die
So who looks best now?
If there is an afterlife;
Materialistic girl?
Hypocritical guy?
The homeless know we all die.
