So Hollow Poem by Refai Tommas

So Hollow

Forgive me if my words were so weak
But understanding truth is all I seek
Though it may seem a wee bit meek
Frankness is my problem
Straightforwardness is my trouble
Honesty is my dilemma
And flatting seems the only refuge
From this “vile earth”, so dim and huge
Many times love was inside me
Love is what did not let me see
How hollow and shallow this life can really be
But I finally opened it
Not my eye but my heart
And what I saw
Was a gross nothingness
Though life may deep initially seem
As several may fondly deem
It is due to their living in dreams
