So Confused Poem by Jessie Mahoney Bathis

So Confused

Rating: 4.5

You’ve admitted to lying, cheating and breaking my heart,
You think that because it was so long ago it won’t tear us apart?
I feel so disconnected and emotionally detached from you,
I’d expect such deceit from anyone in this world but you.
You were always a perfect man in my eyes,
Up on a pedestal.
How didn’t I see this coming?
I’m such a fool.
My heart is so shallow,
Empty and cold.
This is all new too me,
To everyone it’s old.
Not only am I broken,
I am humiliated.
Holding your hand I was proud,
My love for you has severely disinigrated.
I can’t put the pieces of my heart back together,
You’ve broken my trust and lost my respect.
Cut as deep as this,
I’m wounded forever.
This may very well be the last stop on our journey together.
If you’ve done this to me once,
You could do this to me twice.
It was supposed to be you and me forever.
