Smile Poem by Felicia Manning

Smile

You laugh in my face,
So I laugh with you,
You think I'm a joke,
I know that's not true.

You shame and you bash me,
I will not respond,
Others may be fooled,
We both know you're the con.

Your disrespect will not affect
My character

I know who I am,
You will not break me,
You can try as hard as you can.

Rumors are just entertainment,
The people laugh then grow bored,
Then it's on to the next,
So I'll wait til your joke is old.
