Sleeping On The Job Poem by Lauren Coles

Sleeping On The Job

There's a reason why they call it a job for a reason,
Everything is not free in life,
People really wish they were it would be a easy world to live in,
But unfortunately the world doesn't work that way,
People don't want to wake up at the crack of dawn when their alarm clock goes off,
They might not like the traffic that they have to drive in to get to work,
Your coworkers are jerks,
The company doesn't pay you enough so you just think you can play on your phone all day,
You might not have the presentation ready to go that your boss asked you to do,
If a job means that much to you would you do anything to keep it,
Many people are interviewing for the same job that you are and a missed opportunity is gone forever,
Everyone has to work to have a roof over your head and raise a family.
