Sketching Time In Stone Poem by Melissia Ann Senter

Sketching Time In Stone

Though days are short, the nights are long;

in time the nights will become shorter.

The Autumn song awaits

for cool wind to change.

Moments in time

are sketched in memories

of a love that was meant to be,

but many stories never told

would leave us still broken and apart.

We were like two diamonds in the dust of our lives

I was stuck in my world of fears,

wondering if you were being true to our love

or were you just pretending.

You in your own world of fear,

wondering if I was your one true love

or was I just a fantasy?

Were we meant to be.

Would our love and intimacy last for eternity?

We loved whole-heartedly and tenderly,

like two diamonds in the dust of our lives.

I loved you heart and soul for many years

And, through many tears,

I told you to go because of my fears.

You were out there,

doing things I thought you shouldn't have done;

but I was wrong and now I know

you were my one true love.

I made you go away.

You found another and made her your wife.

We were like two diamonds

in the dust of our lives.

Sketching Time in Stone.
