Sing My Heart, Sing... Poem by Neera Lollbeeharry

Sing My Heart, Sing...

Sing my heart, sing…

Sing my heart, sing….
Sing the song of the pristine lovers, passionate with a growing fire.
Sing their anguish at separation when their beings burn with desire.
Sing but be gone… for this is not your destination.

Hum my heart, hum…
Hum the tunes of the happy lovers, cooing softly in a warming nest.
Hum their joy at togetherness, their fiery ardour now come to rest.
Hum but be gone…for here, lies not your resting place.

Dance my heart, dance…
Dance to the jerky rhythm of dying love where boredom has settled in.
Dance to the slow surrender to apathy and the disillusionment therein.
Dance, but be gone… for this is clearly not your refuge.

Sing my heart, sing…
Sing and hum and dance while you can, for life and love are temporary.
Sing and be merry as a bystander, for your stay here is just momentary.
Sing but be gone… lest it fills you with too much solitude.
