Silhouettes Poem by Scott Murray

Silhouettes

You wipe a tear from my eye; you never could stand to see me cry
You say it's time to put it to bed, just kick it in the head
And that what we had has to die
My limbs are getting tired, but you have a magnetic pull which drags me forward
And I keep giving you my heart but the parcel is returned unopened
And all these pictures of you keep playing in my head on a never ending loop
And I am trying to make it stop but the sound of your voice is haunting my every waking moment
All the words that you said leave me feeling dead
Is the pain you feel now comparable to being with me
Or was it easier to walk away and say we are through
Do you remember me with moments of peace or is it all tainted in grief
The snow keeps coming down and covering the ground
And I want to lie down and let it cover me
As the snow lands in my hair, and the tear freezers there and leaves a permanent stain on my face
