Silent Pictures Poem by Bill Simmons

Silent Pictures

Silent pictures clinging to my mind
Reminding me of what once was our time
It seems so long ago when I once held you
We were young with hearts so blind

Still it was our time, when it was you and I
We loved and tried to find life
But time pulled apart what we had in our hearts
And we cried as our hearts stood by

Still I can see you while you're sleeping
As your presence still visits me
Once it was our time, I held you as mine
Love never dies, I know and believe

For here you are, Still in my heart
Burned in my mind, Like pictures in time
Once it was our time, When it was you and I
I remember the nights, I remember your eyes

Once I held you, Once I loved you
Once in time, We knew what to do
Now in pictures, Still you come to me
Although only memories, I'm still loving you

I still feel your heart, Beating next to mine
Some things never change, Even through time
Always on my mind, Embedded the pictures
Of you and I, And our love once in time.
