Silent Heart Poem by Jaan Zhou

Silent Heart

In the darkness of the night
I hear the ticking of the clock
declaring to me the passing seconds

For time respects not
it just marches on
regardsless...

My thoughts torture my heart
sieving through possibilities
whilst my life force escapes

My heart weeps
as my head considers

Matters it not
I stand alone
for alone I will be
at the very end

For life is measured
that much is assured

Regret not I
of mistakes and blunders
for I have lived
with conscience clear

Though silenced
my heart beats still
awaitiing another dawn

The song of life
lifts my soul

Each single day
promises new beginnings
a rebirth

Bruised pride
simmering anger
dissipate with dawn

My silent heart reigns
rejoicing
yet again

The bell of happiness makes a most wonderful song when it beats..iip
