Silent Greetings Poem by michael Smajda

Silent Greetings

When you no longer have someone
To say, 'Good morning, ' to
And have no one to say,
'Good night, ' like you use to do,
You, sadly, end up with a
Melancholy loneliness, anew,
From missing the very one
Who, graciously, married you.

A very simple but very touching and sincere poem. The words reach far but remain.

The pain and loneliness, so very hard to take. Not even poetry can compensate.
