Silenced Demon Poem by Michael Burgess

Silenced Demon

I don't hear any voices

But I know they're there

A dark shadow in the corner;

I am not afraid

I welcome it

Speak if you can

I will respond

I've always noticed you

You were always there

Get rid of you?

Why would I?

Why kill my demons

if they keep me company
