Sight For Sore Eyes Poem by Michael Pruchnicki

Sight For Sore Eyes

Rating: 0.5

he was a sight for sore eyes
she told me afterwards

a long time since their days
on the Ole Miss campus

when juices ran sweet
and they pledged troth

that's the way she spoke
old testament biblical

like deborah in judges
a woman warrior

you could imagine her
leading troops into battle

he was her longlost lover
long in the tooth all right

but still a mensch
a sight for sore eyes
