Side Effect Poem by Ruben Tover

Side Effect

Wakes up every morning
To take her daily dose
Doctor say if you want to get well
Take your daily dose.

Doctor say if you want to protect
Take your daily dose of side effect.
If you have a micro virus,
If you have a blind iris.
If you have a big cancer
You cannot be a dream dancer.
Doctor say if you want to live
Take your daily dose.
Doctor say if you want to protect
Take your daily dose of side effect.
A milligram of this, a milligram of that
Your hair falls out, you may want to wear a hat.
Pharmaciticals kick back to doctor's hand
Take your daily dose, the white coat man demands.
There is no guarantee that you will have a cure,
But you can bet all your money
Insurance picks pocket for sure.
Oncology, Nuerology, Hematology
It's not where we want to be.
Choices don't come free.
