She sings about the struggle
It surrounds her, absorbs her
Like the color purple
She’s tired of thinking
She’s tired of speaking
Waiting for two lines to point
She said she sings about the struggle
She sings when it’s near
She sings about the fear
She closes her eyes,
Inhales because to her it’s real
She said she sings about the struggle
