She Is The Man Poem by Ayandare Mayowa

She Is The Man

She calls the shots
She opens her own door, pays her own bills,
She paves her own way, fights her own battles,
She soothes effectively her sores, encourages herself,
Strong, ambitious and enterprising she is,
She is the man.

Of her vast kingdom, she is the King.
Her scepter and golden crown she entrusts to no other,
None is man enough to give her orders.
Understandably, more than once she was bitten,
More than twice, now she is shy.

Two emotions evident; anger and passion.
Two expressions we see, serious and plain.
Only one man in her life, God, if He is one.
Intimidated by no one, her achievements speak and ensures that.

But maybe or not she knows it,
Some believe she is missing out.
Missing out of the anxiety, fears and hope that comes with trusting,
Of the lessons and wisdom learned only by hurts and disappointment's,
Missing out of the excitement and challenges that comes with keeping ones home,
Of the pleasure and pressure that comes with nurturing ones family,
The freedom and growth that comes with sacrifice,
Missing out of the uniqueness and grace that comes with femininity,
Missing out of the sense of peace and fulfillment that comes with functioning in ones ordained place,
Missing out of the mystery of loving and being loved.
