She Gave In Her All Poem by Eric Zinbabora Batung

She Gave In Her All

Rating: 4.0

She grew up with aching memories of many losses.
Her mother, her father, her very security.
She grew up anyway.
The storms, waves and fears;
She survived them all.
Yes, she gave in her all.

She found a heart that rhymed with hers.
Fear held her back, but love let her in.
Finally a home she could make her own.
Raise her children and love her man.
But they will not let her be.
Yet, she gave in her all.

One after the other they came.
In drones they trooped in.
She risked her security.
She parted with food and water.
Her happiness and privacy she did compromise.
They asked until much wasn't enough.
Yet, she gave in her all.

Her heart was happy.
She shared with joy.
But they simply asked until all was gone.
Her love parted with no time for goodbyes.
Now the child and the other with her,
Along the struggle and cold lonely nights.
A single mother she has remained.
With God as her help,
As she still gives in her all.
