Shape You Find Yourself In Poem by Dorsey Baker

Shape You Find Yourself In

You can't climb the wall
you can't jump the fence
because your hands are frozen
and your legs are paralyzed
your belly is too big
and your head is oversized
you've got too much
silver in your hair
and too much gold
in your years
the bags under your eyes
too heavy
to face
you're unstable
and you stumble
every time you speak
all the words
come out
like angry demons
its a flimsy excuse
for the shape
you find yourself in!
