Shadows Poem by Chibueze Oscar Osuji

Shadows

Shadows in the day, shadows in the night
When windows refract the sun or moonlight
Gentle and mute but, yet they roar in might
Close to the body, forever in sight

Shadows and shadows are all i know
They walk on land, yet on the sea they'll flow
Do not lit a lamp for i see them glow
Around since beginning till tomorrow

Shadows entwin'd to the body as baste
Going as you go, there's no time to waste
Tis slow if your slow and fast when you'd haste
Sometimes they're useful sometimes full of waste

Shadows, shadows and shadows i will see
They are hard to hide from and hard to flee
Watching the beings is where they long to be
Alas! Even my shadow write with me!
