Set Yourself Free Poem by Mia Valenti

Set Yourself Free

I dream each day
That I am passing through
A world of people
Yet i can't see you.

The streets are so busy,
Winters are so cold,
Life seems so crazy
A romantic story untold.

You showed me pictures
A person who needed to be free.
I felt your pain
In me i felt misery.

Shared many stories
About a young boy who
Grew up to be a man.

A man who had a dream
Of being in a world so free
I can hear your voice
I can hear you scream,
God set me free
And far away from this country.

God forgives you, set yourself free.
Be a part of the world
Your heart desires to be.

Escape those chains around you
And all you feel
For this is for you my friend
For the only power is in you
To make your dream come true.
