Serene Distraction Poem by Tori Beals

Serene Distraction

Rating: 5.0

Serene lake
burning stars
the moon shining above
the wind blows
true colors show
they just need a little shove
jumping in
the ice cold
calm and purple water
Cannonball!
you shout
and I forget about the slaughter
just here and now
not then and there
with everything laid bare
I do believe you distracted me
at least,
Temporarily
