September In Millstreet Poem by Francis Duggan

September In Millstreet

Where old Clara Mountain as ever looks down
On the green countryside bordering Millstreet Town
In latter September in the Fall of the year
And with each passing day cooler and wetter weather is near
In the groves and the woods in the countryside near Millstreet Town
The deciduous leaves will soon be turning brown
And the cattle will soon be in farmyard sheds living on silage and hay
When September comes Winter is not far away
Back there o'er the rushy fields where the waterways meet
A short drive by car from the Town of Millstreet
The airborne songsters the skylarks are not singing today
In Nature most birds have their singing Seasons it does seem this way
The Seasons do come and go as they always will
To the green countryside in view of Clara's Hill.
