Sensitivity Poem by Sandra Feldman

Sensitivity

Rating: 2.8

Sensitivity,
Reminds me,
Of the flickering light
Of a candle,
Trembling in the night,
Increasing our inner sight,
Turning feelings,
Into Light.

I bow to you, Poetess. This is what it means to write and write like a goddess of the pen. The very structure of this poem trembles, the shape resembles the flame of a candle responding to the movements to the currents to the spirits in the air. That is what great poets [poetessessi] do- -they use words and the shapes of words and the shapes of lines and every tool in their arsenal to whisper their message into the reader's ear. And what a beautifully apt comparison you chose to make between sensitivity and the flame of a candle. Yes! That flame is tender to its environment, to the very smallest shift in molecules and spirits if you will. And why is Sensitivity so important? Because it turns our feelings into Light. WoW! ! That is Perfect Wisdom couched in Beauty.. Don't ever hide YOUR light under a bushel, my friend. This world needs the guidance your poetic light gives to a very dark and troubled world, Thank you dear for the mention, but my name doesn't belong on the same page as yours, I have Mount Everest to climb before I can reach that point...if ever.

I, as a male, have always been proud of being sensitive, even when it hurts. Wonderfully written, Sandra

This is an extremely insightful one Sandra. I thinks its a quality that aligns so well with the image of a flickering candle. The fire is strong, yet very gentle. I would love to see this one expanded into a longer piece, though it works as a brief one too. I'm very drawn to candle imagery. Thanks for sharing.
