Sensing Sensibly Poem by Avik Datta Gupta

Sensing Sensibly

When your senses cannot realise the truth,
With a whole world to taste and smell,
And you do have a lot to feel and see,
That may make you hear the wrong bell!

Sweetness may not be as sweet after a while,
While bitterness might not be bitter,
While fine fragrances could prove to be fatal,
As visions get blinded by a flashing glitter.

And we let our senses decide for us,
While we conclude what's good or bad,
And since we rely too much on what they say,
We feel deceived, dejected and bad

It is must for us to trust our precious mind,
And let senses simply sense what they sense,
Let not any of it's perceptions of addition and subtraction,
Attempt to program our thought's essence!

Our minds have an intuitive intelligence,
Which is not really put to use,
As our senses often feeds us with foolish nonsense,
And we have ourselves to abuse.
