Seeds Of Hope Poem by David Wood

Seeds Of Hope

Rating: 5.0

From the quiet of my kitchen I plot
The overthrow of the ever growing
weeds that compete in my garden
For natures water and sunshine.

They grow softly, quietly without
Fuss, but, just like some people,
They are unloved and unwanted.
They are natures outcasts.

New seeds will soon waken from their
Forlorn grave to springs gentle rain,
And a soft yellow sun that gently
Warms springs sleepy earth.

Soon, birds will endeavour to feast
In their passing through a clear blue
Sky as they go from garden to garden
And deplete ground laying seeds.

Summers sun warms the earth for all
Alike, whether human or botanical, the
Sun carries no favour, nor condemns
As humans do throughout their lives.

In the safety of the earth, seeds erupt
Into blossoms of roses, peas, cabbages
And potatoes beneath the earth to offer
Their unique beauty and delight for all.

Natures unique gift for all mankind is in
Competition with mans destructive hand
And his need to pollute all he touches
Throughout this one earth we all share.

We plant flowering plants and rejoice when they blossom. And always remember to remove weeds. But is hard to assimilate that weeds are also part of Nature's design. Enchanting poem David. enjoyed.
