Secrets Poem by G J Salgado

Secrets

Left hidden and unlocked,
Torn but cherished,
Attached where birds of deceit flocked,
All innocence vanished.
Blackened by lies,
Keeping unwanted vows,
Searching for an alibi,
Unraveling then from now.
Giving excuses,
Making choices,
Tormented by one who abuses,
Allowing vices.
Carrying burdens,
Burning bridges,
Dripping in sin,
Drenched accomplices.
Engulfed and deranged,
Pure insanity,
Lost and estranged,
Wallowing in hypocrisy.
Empty roots,
Wasted dreams,
Salty truths,
And nothing honest in between!
