Bringing out the best, bringing out the worst these unprecedented scary times
The invisible enemy at war in our neighbourhoods, disrupting our daily routines
All living on scary avenue, scary streets, roads displaying an eery silent quiver
Isolating the isolated thunderbolt cracks open our community psyche
Daily updates watching the news with mouths open wide in shock, the disbelief
Praying for the casualties, nursing the infected the human cost yet unknown
Suppress, squash, contain this harmful bug join the handwashing singing happy birthday brigade
Bog roll bandits, Dick Turpin highwayman demanding all the sanitizer, the hoarding burglars pounce
The Elbow, the foot tapping, the new permitted bodily hugs
spreading love, kindness, hope the battle cry response of a nation
There will be the light leading each of us through, playing our part, the guarantee the human race will never fade away.
Pulling together, community spirit, for this evil will be overcome collectively by the actions of not a few but of many
