Scarlet Moon Poem by Jessica Robert

Scarlet Moon

A tear sheds from the face
Of the pained soul
The heart slowly breaks
A midnight cloak surrounding the light
Sinking, falling
Deep into the closing hole
Numbness filling the body
Beads of red
Fleeing the fresh cut across the wrist
The pointed metal, falling from the hands
To the cold floor, crashing with a faint sound
The noise too loud for the feeble ears
As the empty whispers of agony
Touches the spirit icily
Depression, slowly clouding upon the smile
Making it harder to breathe
The figure, eyes tearless and sore
Will look up into the midnight sky
And see that tonight will be the night
That the darkness shines through
A Scarlet Moon.
