Savannah: Leaving Ch 1 Poem by Mike Conkey

Savannah: Leaving Ch 1

Flying on this plane
leaving eveyone i love behind
searching for whats out there
anything i can find
as the sun goes down
so do my eyes
i no why im running
to escape all the lies
as i sleep i dream
the people by my side
these particular people
and the ones of whom i will collide
half of me wants to back
but im already here
a bright beautiful beach
where my thoughts can be clear
a new friend Claude
walks close near by
we speak of our lives
i tell him everything as i let out a sigh
as we go to the city
i see a girl in distress
the one i may love
we would laugh and caress
a boy throws her to a wall
as she drops with a fall
my hands feel like the sun
as bright lights come forth
he falls to the ground
and i take her up north
