Sail Away Poem by Mary Lyle

Sail Away

Ship-Wrecked
Pounded, crashing into the rocks
Fierce waves of emotion
Swept across the ocean floor
Sandy gash, sting of salt
Angel or demon
Death brought back to life
Shell resurrected
Splattered on rocks to dancing on clouds
Floating softly to shore
Uplifted by the ocean air
Existence defined
Uninhibited
Sandy shores, fairytale dreams
Blue skies, shining sun
Neverending shore...
