The light fades to darkness
As I recede into the shadows

I sit there remembering…….
The light in her eyes, the glow of her smile
The joy in her voice, the radiance of her face

The way she kept me for the shadows

I sit there regretting………
My fear to tell her how I felt
That I let her slip in to someone else’s arms

The light fades to darkness
As I recede into the shadows

I sit there missing……..
The smile that played at my lips
every time I saw her face
The way my heart raced
every time she held my hand

But………
