Sad And Depressed, I Come Poem by Alice Shaw

Sad And Depressed, I Come

A cry only heard at night
It’s headed, left and right
Don’t know where to go next
I think I’m caught in the nest
I need a knight
Wrapped up in armour white
I need him now,
And this I vow

Nothing else will matter
Not the litter or the glitter
Bring any before me
My only urge’s to flee
None will do
Now I’ve lost you

Don’t know your name
Who should I call?
When my passion burns in a flame
In whose eyes will I fall?
I need you to catch
The last breaking match
Or ‘ere I shall lie
To never wake and only die.
