S.A. Revisited Poem by Kevin Parkin

S.A. Revisited

A lonely emissary
Into a deep and dark
and lonely land,
Cyclopean; seeing only what can
Be seen.
Reading between the lines,
Telling forceful lies,
Trying to mediate.
The Folk, the People.
Stones flung in anger
And frustration,
seeking the tiny crack
In the rock between
the two worlds;
Hades and Elysium
Fragmented, starred in a
shattering explosion of
Sound as the screams
echo throughout the
rubble-strewn streets,
crazily lit by burning fires
Raging in the hearts and minds
Of a tormented people.

For the People,
By the People.
